Research Team
The following is a roster of some of the writers involved in creating the curriculum for the university. All come from various walks of life. Not all teachers and writers are listed here as there are too many contributing writers to list and some are a little shy... There are new writers coming aboard all the time, though, for UMS is always adding new electives to its curriculum offerings.

He attended The American College Of Traditional Chinese Medicine and received his state license in 1986. He also studied at The SAMRA University of Oriental Medicine and received a degree of Doctor Of Oriental Medicine in 1988. He also studied abroad in China where he completed advanced training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the Quangdong Provincial Hospital Of Traditional Chinese medicine. In 1988 he and his wife, Elisabeth Pahara M.S.CM. who is also trained in traditional Chinese medicine, opened The Center For Natural Medicine in Arcata, California.

Ministerial Ordination

Upon completion of the Master’s Degree, the student becomes a registered reverend or minister. The student is ordained with all the rights, powers and privileges of an ordained reverend or minister through the parent non-profit organization of the university, Wisdom of The Heart Church 501(c)3.

Many churches supplying ministerial status for only a few dollars are unstable and they are not a genuine 501(c)3 organization listed with the proper federal agencies. You could find yourself in legal trouble for practicing counseling without proper credentials. Someone may challenge you about your ministerial status, especially when you get into counseling or assuming tax advantages that are available as a minister. You will need to be backed by a church that has staying power and will not have disappeared when you need proof of your status as a minister or reverend. Wisdom of The Heart Church is a bonafide church listed with the proper federal agencies, and will be there if you should ever need proof of your ministerial legitimacy.

Ministerial ordination is part of University of Metaphysical Science's Master's curriculum. Upon completion of the Master's degree, you will receive ministerial certification. UMS offers online certification and can answer any minister ordination question you might have. Become a reverend by taking courses at UMS. The Minister and Reverend Handbook is offered as part of the curriculum so that you will be able to conduct ceremonies in a traditional sense and also learn how to construct your own. A certificate as a minister or reverend can be yours.

From Caterpillar to Butterfly

Think about the caterpillar morphing into the butterfly, a beautiful analogy for change in the spiritual sense. We all feel like a caterpillar at times, an ugly, undeveloped self (I personally don’t think caterpillars are ugly, I think they’re kinda cute in their pudgy way!). We all want to be the butterfly, the gorgeous finished product, flying about in grace and beauty, experiencing bliss everywhere we go. We all want to be seen as beautiful, respectable, and lovely. How do we get to that? It isn’t so easy, some would say.
We see people who have become the finished product, a successful, beautiful, powerful human being who has it all together. We all see people who we respect, admire and wish we were like, right? However, those people did not come into it without a lot of work on themselves spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically.
We all want to be the butterfly, but do we really want to go through the process that it takes to become that? There is a molting period, a liquification of self that is part of that process of going from the form of caterpillar to butterfly. It doesn’t necessarily look like a pleasant process, morphing into another form. Literally there has to be a breakdown of the first form, a dissecting or dissolution process, and then there is room in reality for the new form to be born.
It is a death and birth process, and both of those processes tend to be messy, dramatic, and difficult in their own respects. When you do both together, it gets even messier and more difficult! Death and rebirth at the same time are a superb event indeed.
Think about what you see in yourself as the caterpillar, the undeveloped and “first form” type of self. You might be all caterpillar in your opinion, or some percentage of caterpillar versus a percentage of butterfly. Perhaps you’ve been working on yourself for quite a while and you already transformed some parts of yourself that were “ugly” or undeveloped before now. Perhaps you feel like you might even be getting close to being a butterfly. Just examine where you think you are in the morphing process of the death of the old self and the birth of the new self.
Truly, the new self was always there, just as the butterfly was always there in the caterpillar. It isn’t visible before the transformation, but the blueprint and the potential was always there and present. I think of the new self as the eternal, deeper self, the You that was always present, even as the idea of yourself as a human seemed to take precedence for a while in the first part of your life.
The eternal self that you are is the butterfly, and it was always there. It isn’t born or created, it is only the idea of being a human version of self as the sole identity, the caterpillar, that needed to be liquefied and disintegrated. Then the already present butterfly underneath the illusion can emerge from the cocoon of change.
What is your version of the cocoon? What is your version of the cauldron or catalyst for change? How is it that you are disintegrating the idea that you are just a human, mortal self with a specific name and identity? How are you molting into the new form, seeing yourself as immortal and eternal self? How are you becoming aware that you are consciousness dreaming itself to be a specific human with a certain collection of experiences? Your cocoon of change is unique to you, and you are inside it, searching, seeking, and spiritually growing.
I would encourage you to simply stop and be the butterfly that you already are. Stop all the figuring, strategizing, fixing of yourself, and all the searching. You are already what you want to become. All you have to do is literally “drop” the old form, the old ideas of self and step out of who you think you are for just a moment. It is only a matter of readjusting your perceptions of who you think you are in the journey between caterpillar to butterfly.
It doesn’t actually take work or effort on your part to become the new self. The caterpillar does not “work” to become the butterfly. It doesn’t “do” anything! It simply waits for the old form to drop away, being patient while the discomfort of dissolution happens, if it is uncomfortable at all. Maybe it’s not.
Maybe it is us who makes the morphing process so difficult. We are so mind focused as a species and it might well be ourselves who are interfering with how easy the process of letting go of the old form. We can simply let it fall away, but in our own minds we find that hard to be at ease with. We have to make it hard and uncomfortable, for some reason.
Discomfort and difficulty might not be the nature of the process of transformation at all. Perhaps the period of transition from caterpillar to butterfly is not that difficult. Perhaps it is a state of bliss and relaxation for the caterpillar as it becomes the butterfly.
I encourage you to look at how you might be interfering with your own process of transformation from the old self to the new self. Perhaps it would be so much easier if you just rest your mind, don’t try to fix anything, and simply be present in the moment in a relaxed state of mind, patient with the process of the old falling away and the new showing up. It doesn’t have to happen overnight, and perhaps that is where much of your dissatisfaction with the process is coming from. You want the butterfly to be in full flight already, but there is a period of dissolution and resolution still happening. You can’t rush that process.
Be patient. The butterfly-you is present and already perfect, already formed. All you have to do is relax, drop the old stories and identities, and simply let your eternal nature emerge. It is actually very simple. Sure, some of your old caterpillar ways might reappear and assert themselves now and then, but you can always redirect your awareness back into the butterfly-you at any and all times.
You could think of the human condition as the caterpillar, and the eternal self that you are as the butterfly. Both exist, both have form in the same lifetime, and you are able to switch back and forth between both of those forms. The goal is to rest in the butterfly version of self more often than you might now, but that comes. It is a lifelong goal, a lifelong period of readjustment.
Be at peace. You do not have to fix everything in your personality. That all becomes “fixed” automatically when you shift your point of view into that of the eternal self rather than that of the struggling human. You do not have to find anything that you don’t know about already, it is all there inside you. It is innate knowing within you. All you must do is relax and let the butterfly come forth. It is already here, present and completely whole. Simply drop the old forms and ideas, the old ways of being, and the new you is already here, fully functional and present.

We Are The Angels: Angels In The Flesh

We are the angels we have been looking for. We are the source of love on this planet. We are the helpers of others who are here. We are the ones who answer each other’s prayers, really. The angels aren’t outside of ourselves. We are the incarnation of angels who have come here to dream the life of a human.
We are not fallen angels, we are not punished angels, and we are not “messed up” angels. We came here by choice because we are interested in the human experiment, this attempt to build a vehicle that can hold God’s consciousness, which each of us are. The human form will someday hold far more consciousness than it does now. In the meantime, we can know that we are God, we are angels, and we are Oneself immersed in its imaginings.
Those of us who want to help the world, help the people awaken and change things for the better, we are starting to dream lucidly, living a lucid life. Many angels are still asleep. Many don’t know who they really are. It doesn’t change the fact that they too are God incarnate, angels in human bodies. All that is different for some over others is that they have begun to question reality and explore consciousness itself.
So what do we do here as angels? First we must stop taking it all so seriously, even as challenges and unpleasant things come and go. After all, it is but a passing dream in the mind of God, and it lasts for the blink of an eye compared to the eternity that we really live in.
Second we must do the work that burns in our hearts. Whatever it is, the world will be better for it if we can help others, no matter how few or how many, doesn’t matter. If you are here, you are an angel in the flesh with the ability to change reality. You are incarnate as a human, but your true identity is that you are everlasting consciousness living in the eternal now moment and no moment can harm you. You are here to do a certain thing in the world that no one else can do, and what it is only you can find out.
Get in touch with the angel inside you and live your life as an angel would. We are all angels with a special talent or gift that will make it possible for us to make the world a better place. Maybe your gift is being the best possible parent, an inventor, or perhaps an artist or gardener. You don’t have to be famous and powerful to make a difference in the world. Start just by affecting those around you for the better as an angel in their midst, in disguise as a human. You are no mere mortal. You are eternal Godself in the flesh. It takes some getting used to when you realize this, but then your whole life changes for the better when you realize yourself as an angel in the flesh.

What is Abundance Really? And How Do You Get Abundance?

A lot of people think they know what abundance is: having a lot of money, material possessions, fame, or some sort of power. However, I am not sure that is what abundance is. I have had a little of each of those things, but I can’t say I felt abundant in those moments. In fact, those were stress inducers and some situations were actually nightmaric! So then, what is abundance…really?
I have come to believe that abundance is actually in your heart, in the richness of life, in the love you are able to share with others. My idea of an abundant life is one that has lots of laughter in it, excitement, adventure, and amazing people who intrigue me and keep me entertained. What is exceptionally abundant to me is those moments when I witness someone “awakening” and lighting up in consciousness to true awareness of who they really are. When they become able to now live in the now moment as divine being rather than just another struggling human, that is the most precious thing to me.
Abundance is not money. Money can create a lot of headaches for you. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t have enough money to take care of ourselves and be comfortable, but masses of wealth is not abundance. In fact, hoarding wealth is a statement about how much you believe in scarcity, saving it for a rainy day when you think the universe will stop flowing and sending you what you need. It’s also a burden, for then you don’t know who just likes you because you have money, or wants some of your money, or hopes to sell you something to get your money. Someone might even marry you for your money with the full intention of divorcing you! There are lots of ways having masses of wealth can become a nightmare. Abundance is not a lot of material possessions either, which you will have to insure, worry about theft or damage, and so on. Neither is fame or power a form of abundance. Just look at all the craziness that goes with that!
My question to a lot of people who are seeking abundance is to ask them to identify what abundance really means to them. You might think you want money, possessions, or fame, but maybe that’s not what you really want at all. Maybe you want fulfillment of your true potential, peace, joy, stability, love, use of your talents and skills in the world, a family, a lover to share life with… What is it that you really want? Don’t think of the object you want, but rather the essence of what you want. That is where your true abundance is formed.

Mind Powers and Mind Tricks, Elementary Dear Watson!
I have attained a lot of abundance on the material plane in some people’s opinion. I have founded and created University Of Metaphysical Sciences which is a successful online school with thousands of students all over the world, Wisdom Of The Heart Church which is the parent company of several spiritual businesses, and I am now creating Starlight Mountain Farm in Grass Valley, California. I have plans for making spiritually focused feature films and am already in production for a TV series called Spirit Talk TV. The proof is in the pudding that what I am about to tell you about manifesting abundance really works, so check it out with an open mind, ok?
My first advice to you is to FORGET EVERYTHING YOU HAVE LEARNED about manifesting abundance right now! Throw out all your new age books that teach you how to do affirmations, visualizations, and all the material that just teaches mind power stuff. Yes, those techniques work on beginner levels, but they will never produce the big results you are looking for. Those methods are elementary, dear Watson.
I don’t do any affirmations, visualizations, or strategies to make physical reality obey my every command. I do not use mind powers or mind tricks to manifest an abundant reality. I use them a little for health of my body if I get sick, but that’s all I find them useful for nowadays. It might make you feel empowered if it works, but it doesn’t really serve the divine will if it simply serves you and an egoic desire you have.
There are workshop leaders making millions of dollars and thousands of people go to them in droves in order to learn these mind powers. However, what they are being taught is not true manifesting power, but beginner level mind powers that won’t take you all the way. Only in service to the divine within you will you go all the way.
This is the biggest problem with the teachings about the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is a core spiritual concept, but now it has been turned into another way to be greedy, another way for “me to get more.” The good thing about this misuse of the Law of Attraction is that people who never thought about spirituality before are now getting into this exploration of consciousness because they are greedy or needy. However, isn’t that why we all started the spiritual path, really? We all wanted more of something… more happiness, more love, more self worth, more money, more something, right? It’s ok if that is what got us going on the spiritual path, but it is important to move beyond that first egoic desire that got us on the path and receive the deeper messages. Now is your chance.
Surrendering To The Divine
So you want to create abundance? Here’s how. Surrender yourself to whatever the universe wants to do with you, whatever “God” has planned for your life, and let go of all your own desires, no matter how practical they are. You must technically let go of your own life and give it to a higher power to use. Your life is over and now it belongs to “God,” whatever that means to you. That is the most potent form of manifesting abundance and I promise that it works. It has for me.
This is a radical invitation, and also a radical move on your part if you take it. Not very many people are able to do this, but it is the shortest route to everything you have ever wanted. If you wanted to be rich, let that die. If you wanted to be famous and powerful, let that die. If you want a certain house, lifestyle or image, let that die. Surrender to whatever is to be done with you by a higher power, even if it means not having anything you wanted. Allow yourself to be used by spirit however it sees fit. Whatever your life will look like from now on, let that be ok with you even if it means being not-rich, not-famous, not-powerful. Maybe you will live a really simple, humble life.
What if you never get anything you want, but you live a life of integrity in service to the divine? Will that be an acceptable alternative to all your present egoic desires? If so, you are ready to serve as a channel for the divine energies to flow onto the Earth. Surrendering to being used for divine purposes doesn’t mean you won’t be happy or get a lot of what you want and more. In fact, it is the shortcut to getting what you want. However, getting yourself out of the way is what is most important here.
The first year I lived like this, not a whole lot happened. I simply stayed focused on staying present in the moment and not moving into the past or future, a challenge indeed for someone like me. I always valued my thinking powers and my strategizing mind, so to let this go was a leap of faith for me. Then, after a testing period of my commitment to spirit, the divine flow started happening faster than I could even keep up with. Suddenly I was in full swing with my new life direction, following on a daily basis the directions from within my heart. It was literally a new reality, one driven by divine purpose rather than egoic desires. I thought I was divinely driven before but it was only partly so, mixed in with the desires I had for myself along with it. Now it is solely coming from the divine, for I consider my human life over and now I am just here to do the work of Godself. I am not in it for anything for myself. I could pay myself a huge amount of money because of the success of this new reality, but I don’t. I would rather keep it in service to humanity’s awakening. I plan on dying penniless, and all the money that moves through me in this lifetime is going to be used for making the world a better place, however that manifests.
I knew there would be something good for me because the divine doesn’t want any of us to suffer, so I knew I wouldn’t hate it. I am not suffering, although I’m not accepting riches in the form of money. I accept riches in my heart. However, many of the desires I had before are happening anyway because they are in alignment with who I am and the work I do. I have much more now than I thought I would have, things I hadn’t even imagined. Everything is bigger than I thought it would be. Literally, letting spirit create your life for you instead of directing the project yourself produces better results than you can!
So how does one end the human life and live then as the divine being incarnate on Earth, doing the work of the Oneself, the Godself, instead of trying to “get more for me?” How does one live as an eternal consciousness in a body instead of a human that thinks it will die someday? This takes a lot of changes in how you think, feel and act. That is why there seemed to be a year of no man’s land with this radical new way of being and thinking that I adopted. There is a testing period, and the test is being created by you yourself. There is also a relearning period in order to change your thinking habits, egoic desire habits, and more. If you can make it through that part, the rest of your life will be lived as an angelic being doing the work of Godself, and experiencing things in an abundant way. I am so happy to be living this way, and it is soooo much easier and fulfilling!

The Voice of the Earth and Her Plants

The Earth’s wisdom is available to those who listen.  I have had a deep, intimate connection with our Mother Earth ever since I can remember.  My study of herbalism has been an endeavour that I began back when I was a child, although my true passion did not emerge until I was in my teenager years.  It was at this time that I began to learn about the wide diversity of the plant kingdom that existed around me, each and every time I was outdoors.  I found this fascinating, the idea of the wild weeds providing so much food, medicine and comfort in a time of need.  My study of herbalism and the natural world is going into its twentieth year.  I am certainly a naturalist and herbalist by definition, yet only recently has so much about the natural world been revealed to me … as the veil has begun to lift … through the power of my imagination and intuition.

Few books teach the methods to finding the secrets and uses of the plants yourself, yet those who have written the books that carry the herbal wisdom that so many of us rely upon, were originally discovered through study, experience, watching animals and communication with the plants themselves.  My desire to live intimately with nature is one I could never be without.  I awake to the sound of the birds at my windows.  They sing liberally, surrounding my home, nesting in the trees … joining the squirrels, bunnies and deer in the sacredness of my back yard.  I have acres of wild plants and trees, many whose names I am quite familiar with, utilizing there gifts often, trusting them to my beloved family.  The natural world opens itself up to those who choose to see it and the plants come to life … speaking to those who are willing to listen, to those who … believe.

The shared belief and understanding of traditional cultures, geologically separated and existing all around the globe is that everything in life is sacred.  These cultures have also held the belief that if we respect the sacredness of the Mother Earth and all her creations, we will then live in harmony with our Lady Gaia.  What a beautiful thought, to live in balance with our sacred world.  Quantum physics has proven our oneness with the world, through scientific principles, just as religious leaders have spoken about it for centuries.  Deep in the cells and chakras of our beings, we already know of this oneness … of this connection that we share with all of life.

Each person’s relationship with the earth is unique, just as each person’s relationship with themselves is also.  Practicing herbalism and using the gifts of the plants is one way of connecting with the earth.  Herbs can have a tremendous healing and aligning effect of the wholeness of our body, emotions, mind and spirit.  Nature is a powerful healer and she shares her gifts with us all.

Herbal remedies have been recorded throughout history, since the beginning of civilization and herbalists have been viewed as having special powers to see into the mysteries of nature.  The plants have stories to tell us, filled with ageless wisdom and delightful life energy.  I have found that simply connecting and appreciating a plant, to be extremely healing.  The vast knowledge that has been collected about plants has been said to come from the spirits or energies of the plants themselves.  So next time you find yourself interested in a certain plant, or drawn toward it in in a seemingly magnetic way … speak to the spirit of the plant.  Try to connect to the plant with your heart.  Then, clear your mind and listen.

May you open the door to the magical world of herbal wisdom, deepening your relationship with the Earth and all of her bountiful, beautiful and talkative plants.

Shadow Work: Removing the mask, Revealing the Beautiful You

The healing modality known as Shadow Work is a deep process of psycho-emotional healing.  This work begins by bringing aspects of the self into conscious awareness in order to heal mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  Termed by Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychologist and mystic philosopher, the Shadow is the sum total of all those unpleasant qualities that we hide, together with the insufficiently developed functions and the content of the personal unconscious.  The Shadow is the unconscious aspect of the personality which the conscious ego does not recognize in itself.

As you can imagine, the healing of the Shadow can be quite intense, with great rewards attached to this process.  Love and acceptance of the self are paramount to evolution of the soul.  As spiritual aspirants, meeting the inner distresses and parts of ourself that are disowned allows us to heal them, before they manifest themselves in our lives.  These deep influences are motivating us, unseen and unrecognized.  Stored emotions trigger all sorts of psychological anxieties.  By shining light on the Shadow, and actively investigating a deeper part of the self, wonderful opportunities of growth and enlightenment will present themselves.

Shadow Work is all about making the unconscious Shadow conscious and healing these parts of the self, making room for more authenticity and honest self-expression.  By getting in touch with these deeper parts of the self and embracing the Shadow, many of the golden parts of the self will emerge and life will be more colorful, dynamic and rich.  Shadow Work is similar to the Shamanic practice of retrieving soul losses.  It is imperative that in doing this work you are willing to be emotionally vulnerable to facing the Shadow, as many unknown things about the self will come into light.  This can be emotionally exhausting, so guidance or proper knowledge is recommended.  The loving support from those on a similar road can not be emphasized enough.

The Shadow lurks beneath the surface, bound by fear, shame and guilt.  It can be difficult to detect without conscious awareness, of the tricks that the self will do to keep the wounds from being exposed.  One clue to the presence of the Shadow is through projection.  The qualities that people fear in themselves are the same qualities that they will actively dislike in others.  By turning a personal inferiority into a perceived moral deficiency in someone else, the Shadow is able to stay unrecognized within the person.  Your emotion-based judgments are always Shadow projections, rooted in unresolved trauma of some kind.  As you become aware of your own Shadow projections, you will begin to accept them more in others, and in turn, accept them in yourself. This acceptance stage is the key to completely dissolving your Shadow projections.  An interesting point about projection is that people will project not only the undesirable qualities in themselves, but also positive qualities within themselves too.  This is called the Golden Shadow or Halo Effect.

Shadow Work is a way of bringing your true self out of the Shadow and into the light so that you can show it off to the world.  You will want too!

Types of Psychic Abilities

Seeing into the future is a natural occurrence and we are all psychic to some degree.   To the eternal self, our true nature, time is simultaneous and there is no past or future.  There is only the eternal now.  To the eternal self, everything happens at once.  The term psychic is generally used to describe a person with the ability to recognize things that are hidden from the five basic senses, to sense something through the use of extra-sensory perception.  Being psychic is actually a generalized umbrella term that refers to many different forms of psychic abilities.  There are many types of psychic powers and they all have a different way of sharing information.  Let’s take a look at some of the more common and talked about psychic abilities.
Telepathy is is the transmission of information from one person to another without using any of our 5 known sensory channels, and without any type of physical interaction.  Telepathy is most potent between people who have an emotional bond.  Love is often involved.  Stress also brings about spontaneous telepathy at times.  When there is a great need, it is not unusual for a person to quickly become aware of the validity, accuracy and existence of telepathy.
Clairvoyance (known also as clear vision) is an interior vision.  Clairvoyance is seeing beyond what the eyes see.  It is possible to receive many visual insights, as well as see the auras of people, animals and plants using clairvoyance.  Those with exceptional clairvoyant skills can see fairies, spirits, angels and many other spiritual beings.  Often a clairvoyant can see objects or symbols which may have a specific personal or universal meaning, as well as light anomalies … such as flashes of light, orbs and sparks.
Clairaudience (known also as clear hearing) is the ability to hear beyond the physical hearing.  This is inner hearing.  Those who are clairaudient hear many different things, such as bells, voices, music and sounds.  Sound is extremely important to metaphysical and spiritual traditions throughout the world. Often, before an important insight is received or as an opening to a spiritual experience occurs, a sound is heard through clairaudience. This sound may me a soft ring in the ear, a quiet whisper or sometimes it can be much more intense. I have also heard this sound referred to in some traditions as the bells of paradise or the trumpeting before the gates.  The sounds heard through clairaudience are often described as radio signals from varying levels of universal air waves, including our own higher self.  In this way, we tune-in … or something tries to tune-in to us .  The voices that can be heard through clairaudience are often giving spiritual guidance or warning of impending danger.
Clairsentience (known also as clear feeling) or empathy is the ability to feel or sense information beyond the physical senses.
Psychometry is the ability or art of divining information about people or events associated with an object solely by touching or being near it.  Objects belonging to a person are used to help induce psychic intuitions about them.  This ability to touch an object, item or person and receive information about them can be received in the mind as pictures, short a moving film or a sudden a knowing of information.
Remote Viewing, a form of clairvoyance, is the process of observing from a great distance.  This allows the remote viewer to see what is happening in a another place,  describing details about the target that is inaccessible to the normal senses.

Psychic Development and Intuition

Everyone has intuition and whether you know it or not, you use it everyday.  It is a very natural thing.  Intuition is used all the time to make practical and reasoned decisions about money, love, family and every other aspect of life.  Right this very moment you are receiving information instructively.  You are simply unaware of this process.  Most people use their intuition unconsciously all the time, but psychics use their intuition consciously and with deliberate intent.  A psychic have learned to use their intuition on a conscious level, making it possible to answer questions and find information that is that hidden from the mundane world.
Your subconscious mind knows at least ninety percent more than you conscious mind does.  Your subconscious mind works with the cosmos.  You could easily say that your subconscious mind is one smart cookie.  It knows the future, the past, probabilities and possibilities in your life.
Exercising intuition makes it stronger, so the more you use it the better you can utilize this skill in your life.  After all, happiness and intuition are your birthrights.  With a little practice you can make intuition a conscious process.  Intuition is a capacity you were born with, just like riding a bike, playing a music instrument or an any other skill you learn.
You can learn how to hear your subconscious mind when it speaks to you.  This has tremendous potential, offering a richer and more fulfilling life.  Imagine, instantaneously having the answer to a question your heart longed-for queries.  The subconscious mind can find the information that the reasoning mind and intellect could only accomplish after utilizing many time-consuming methods.  Intuition does not reason, nor does it need too.  It is a nonlinear process, simply know in an instant.  By having a question, your intuition has a place of focus.  There is a lot of information available … all information to be exact … and without a question, you may receive answers to the questions that you may not even be aware of.
If you want to develop your intuition you can begin with this simple exercise.  Simply pretend that you already know how.  That’s right, pretend that you can use your intuition at the drop of a hat to answer all kinds of questions.  Be sure to have a question though.  This is important to allowing a specific answer or insight to come through.  Write about it in a special journal that is devoted toward your psychic development.
Another way of increasing your own psychic awareness is through mindfulness.  Become aware of your senses and get in touch with yourself.  Probe yourself like someone who wants to get to know you better.  Answer these questions and use your journal to record your answers.  What do you hear, taste, smell?  How are you feeling at this very moment?  Describe your mental, physical and emotional state.  Be aware of the moment.  Repeat this exercise often to help increase psychic awareness.
Remember to have fun!

The Health Benefits of Meditation- by Marcela De Vivo

Serenity, inner peace and calmness– these are things we all want and need in our lives, but how exactly do we achieve them? The practice of meditation has been found throughout history, especially in religious contexts, as it is believed to enhance one’s physical and mental well-being. Today, it is used as a stress management technique to reduce blood pressure, improve memory and the immune system and much more.
While full inner peace may not come immediately, there is evidence that even one session of meditation can be effective in reducing stress. So, if you have a few minutes to spare, why not try it for yourself? With a little help from this infographic and some practice, you too can achieve inner peace and go with the flow.

The Angelic Realm

Have you ever met an angel?  Have you ever felt one near, or heard the music of the angelic realm?  Or maybe someone has told you about an encounter that they have had?  Would you like to meet an angel?  Would you ask for help if you could, especially when you needed it most?  Would you ask for help, even if you were a bit skeptical?  Could it hurt?
It is possible that you have already met an angel, although unaware.  Hebrews 13:2 states, “Be careful when entertaining strangers, for by so doing, many have entertained angels unawares”.
Angels are truly everywhere, including historical references down through the ages … found in every culture and every religion … a common thread.  They are here with us, whether you believe in them or not.  The angels are laced intricately through art, poetry, literature, sculpture, paintings and nations around the globe.  The angels have been spoken about by great spiritual teaches, saints, poets and prophets.  They transcend cultural belief systems and their existence predates a monotheistic God.  Evidence of belief of these celestial beings can be shown through the writing and drawings of ancient civilizations.  There are many stories of the angels bringing divine messages from above that can be found in the bible and countless other books, as well as personal stories from people that most likely live in your community … even people you know and are close to, such as neighbors, co-workers, friends and relatives.
So what exactly is an angel?  An angel is a messenger, with a special message that has been sent from up above.  They are divine beings that are in service to the Holy Spirit and the greater good of all, that bring messages of love and joy.  Angels are an extension of God, radiant messengers sent by God.  The angels are pure unconditional love and wisdom, important in the heavenly realm.  They help us to raise our vibrational level, give us guidance and comfort.  They show us our potential and help when we need it most.  Angels are a gift from God, to be of assistance to our higher true soul’s purpose while helping us be of assistance to all of creation at the same time.
When you call out, an angel will respond.  They will always respond, whenever we ask for assistance.  They work in subtle ways and will speak to everyone differently.  The angels help keep you in a place of love, protecting you and being there for you, especially when you need them.  So anytime you feel the need, call upon the angels and you are sure to receive angelic guidance.  Welcome this guidance with an open heart and an open mind … and remember how loved you really are.

Noah’s Ark & The Great Deluge

Most people are aware of Noah and the great flood.  This epic Old Testament biblical story of the great global deluge has inspired many artists, poets, film makers and scholars throughout history and continues to be a popular children’s book.  Similar stories of a great flood that covered the entire planet are mentioned in the Torah and the Quran, as well as almost every culture throughout history.  The Babylonian epic of Gilgamesh and the ancient Greeks, Romans and Native Americans all have their own variations of the legendary flood story, as does the myth of the Sumerian water god Enki.  The flood story is all over the world … clearly found to be an event that was sent to us from the people of the past.  Whether or not the great deluge is an actual historical account or not is quite controversial, however it is hard to dispute that somehow the message of the flood is important.
Although most people are aware of one of the bibles most well-known stories, considered to be a retribution of God or the gods, most likely there is a lot about it that you may never even heard of.  In many ways this New Testament story is fantastical … Hebrew mythology that gives clues into a world that once existed and perhaps a world that may return … where giants roamed the earth and the angels produced offspring with humans.  According to the Book of Genesis, God saw that humankind and the Nefilim were committing all sorts of wickedness and therefore decided to destroy man, all except Noah and his family.
Scientists believe that they may have actually found evidence that suggests that Noah’s Ark really existed.  They have found what they believe to be the remains of Noah’s ark beneath snow and volcanic debris on Turkey’s Mount Ararat.  Tours to this Turkish site will take you directly to what is believed by many to be the fossilized remains of Noah’s Ark.  Many people are convinced that this is indeed the Ark of Noah and that it has been revealed to the world at this time for an important reason … the universe wants people to know about it.
I believe that everyone’s perspective of this story, the values and lessons that they are gifted from it, will all be different.  As a student of spirituality and metaphysical studies, the story of Noah, whose righteousness found favor with God or the gods, inspires me to live a whole life … a life that celebrates the parts about existence that are miraculous and natural … the animals, farming and the joy of family.  I think of Noah’s wife and how she must have responded to such a great calling and how brave, strong and intuitive she must have been.  I apply this story in my daily life, by understanding that life sometimes seems cruel … yet, it is filled with wonder … and fortunately everlasting light and life.  The story invites me in … into something deeper, more complex, yet seems to subliminally advise that although our minds can come up with all kinds of clever and creative mixes and matches, scientific studies, conclusions and experimentation, hybrids, cloning, etc … the best things in life indeed are those that need no alteration, no changes or tweaks, as they already are blessed with the love of the creator, of the universal mind.  The story of Noah says that God had promised never again to flood the earth, and offered the rainbow as a sign of good faith saying, “This is the token of covenant which I make between me and  you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my rainbow in the cloud”.  Sealed with the promise that is represented by the rainbow … the bridge that is nothing other than pure light and something of deep metaphysical significance, a stairway to heaven, Noah and his family are then left with their next important mission, as this story of destruction becomes one of creation.

How to Handle the Shadows of Others with Grace & Compassion

The Shadow, a term introduced by Carl G. Jung is the sum of everything in us that is repressed, undeveloped, unconscious and denied, including both dark rejected aspects of the self, as well as positive undeveloped potentials.  Shadow Work is a deep process of psycho-emotional healing that helps to evolve through cultivating awareness and embracing the many parts of the self, aligning and integrating them through the course of spiritual and psychological growth. Everyone has a shadow.  The mass consciousness of our planet does as well.
As a student of metaphysical sciences I am aware of the shadow and I take an active approach to integrating my own shadow into my consciousness.  I am also aware of the shadows of others whose shadows come out to play once in awhile, often antagonizing my own and threatening the very core of my shadow integration.  When this began to happen I knew that I needed to find a way to successfully handle the shadows of others, whose presence in my life is a permanent part of family relationships.  Otherwise I will never be able to fulfill my desire and need to release my shadow from the shadowy depth of my being, without retreating to a remote part of the planet.  Distant retreat was simply not an option.  I needed to find a way to react differently to the shadows of others, with grace … more lovingly, with more acceptance and tolerance … and as I did this, I noticed that my own shadowy pieces began to heal as well.
When dealing with the shadows of others, I allow life to be my classroom.  I allow their shadows to teach me about my own, by recognizing whether or not I feel judgment toward them or whether I am just observing them.  When I find myself judging them, then I know that I must have the qualities that I am judging within myself somewhere.  Sometimes I can recognize this … a painful process, sometimes I cannot, yet I simply continue to observe myself either way.  If you want to see the nature of your shadow, If you observe something it is not a projection, but if you judge it, it is.  Whether I am simply observing their shadow or observing it with judgment I remind myself of a few things in order to make peace with them, their shadows, my self and all of life … giving me the strength, conviction and courage to face their shadows without running from my own.
I first analyze my reactions to this person’s shadow, especially my first reaction.  I really observe myself as though I am watching from above … recognizing that I have a shadow too, just as I recognize the shadow within them.  I ask myself whether or not I am reacting from a human perspective or from the eternal perspective of the self.  I remind myself of the nature of the shadow in the human experience and of the human condition that we are all a part of.  I remind myself to see things from the perspective of the eternal self, releasing the other person from the responsibly of somehow negative affecting me, accepting the shadow within them … and the shadow within me.  The more energy I put into accepting the shadow in them and the natural element of the human expression, the less vulnerable I feel to absorbing their shadows’ projections as my own and the less irritated I feel by my own shadow that they are reflecting.  I simply let go and send love, with great compassion and spiritual understanding of the human condition.  I release myself from the bondage of holding on and forgive.  I remind myself often that others have a shadow, just as I do.  I recognize the flaws within myself and within others … and in doing all of this, through handling and dealing with the shadows of others … I receive a great gift.  I begin to heal my own shadow in the process and live my life more fully, from a greater place of love where fear has less power over my actions and true spiritual wisdom guides me.  I release the resentments and accept the shadow in others, as the shadow in us all is an unavoidable and is necessary part of the human experience.

Conscious Manifestation

If you could consciously create all that you desire, would you?  What would you create?  A great relationship, happiness, prosperity, travel … Go ahead, give it some good thought.  What do you want to manifest in your life?  Do you have what it takes to make your dreams come true?

It is possible to transform each day into the gateway that leads to an exceptional and abundant life.  You can choose the future that you want to experience and then set into motion the vibrational energy to create and attract it.   You can consciously create all that you desire.  You see, this is possible because the Universe, both what we see and what we do not, consists of an enormous web of energy and we are a part of this energy.  We are beings of vibrational energy that interact with this web of energy.  Our energy is so strong, so powerful that it goes forth and changes the fabric of the future.  Wow, right?  Every act and thought contributes to creating a happy, prosperous, healthy and rewarding existence.
If you are ready to live more consciously and let go of living in an unconditional way, manifesting the same repeatable patterns into your life over and over again, than you must first realize that you have a choice.  Without realizing it, we draw experiences and people to us unconsciously, and interact with them in programmed ways.  It is possible however to do this in a more conscious way, drawing to you people, situations, things, opportunities and experiences that you need in order to manifest your desires.
You can manifest good things in your life by consciously paying attention to your thoughts and emotions, which are extensions of you.  Your own thinking effects your life, the life of those around you and the entire fabric of the Universe.  You can manifest an exception life by affirming what you want to have happen and trust in life to bring it to you.  Life loves you and wants you to be happy.  Solutions will come into your life that you never dreamed of.  What a lovely thought!
Conscious creation is all about drawing to you what you need in order to receive what you want.  So get out a pen and paper and begin to really answer the question, “What do you really want in life if your only option was success?”.  Let your heart guide you.  Once you have a clear picture of your desires, then let go … have faith and begin working toward accomplishing some small goals in your life that are a part of the larger goals.  Action married with intention, along with the web of the universe is extremely powerful, so be prepared for opportunities to unfold quickly.  Develop the art of loving things as they are now.  When you notice something you want to change, you must first love and accept it just as it is. Only love is big enough to embrace all the seeming mistakes of the past and the bumps along the way to manifesting all your heart’s desires.  Stay tuned into the frequency you wish to receive from.  The more joy you feel, the more joy will come your way.  Do things that bring you happiness and stay connected to your heart through gratitude.
Here are some techniques and tips toward successful conscious manifestation.
  • Have gratitude for your life and understand that unconscious manifestation thrives on complaining.  So if you want to stop all unconscious manifestation in your life, stop complaining. We keep our childhood programming in place by complaining as though we are victims and life is just happening to us.  Old patterns will drop away effortlessly when you stop complaining.
  • When happiness comes knocking, go ahead and answer it.  Let the happiness in when it comes your way.  By making the choice to be happy as much as possible, no matter what life throws at you, before you know it, your high vibration will create even more joy in your life.  It will literally be drawn toward you.
  • Do not dwell on problems, rather focus on the solution.
  • If a negative thought, person, experience, etc. starts to bring you down, you can break the spell … you don’t have to go with those negative feelings.  You do not have to ride the wave.  Simply make the choice to feel happy and good.  You are the creator of your experience.
  • Forgiveness is something you do for yourself to release yourself from the prison of holding on.  It does not mean that you condone behavior however, so just let it go.
  • How you start your day is important, so start it well.
  • Start a gratitude journal.  Write in it every night before bed.
  • Make an affirmation bowl and place it on the table.  Choose a positive affirmation from the bowl each day at put it on the refrigerator.  Better yet, let the children pick out the affirmations for the day.  Children love affirmations.  Get them doing them early.

Meditation Can Change The World

Are you familiar with the healing powers of meditation?  Did you know that mediation can change the world?  That it contributes to the peace of entire nations?  Did you know that meditating is not only good for your own stress levels, but it also contributes to the reduction of stress and stress-related illness for your neighbors to?  Do you do your part to help yourself and help the consciousness of the masses?
There are numerous benefits of meditation, including dramatic stress reduction.  When you meditate you clear away the information overload that builds up and contributes to  stress.  Stress is a natural part  of human life, but today we are experiencing pandemic levels of stress, stress-related mental illness and lifestyle diseases that are abnormal by historical standards.  Meditation is known to dramatically help reverse the negative effects of stress on the body and mind.
Meditation can give a deep sense of calm, peace and balance that benefits both your emotional well-being and overall health.  There is a growing body of scientific evidence being released by the world’s leading universities demonstrating how meditation produces a large range of positive outcomes.  These include normalized blood pressure and heart rate, empathy, heightened immunity, sharpened memory, increased energy levels and creativity, chronic pain relief, overall increase in well-being and happiness, increased brain function, better decision making capabilities, decreased stress, decreased depression and anxiety and faster recovery from stressful events, to name a few.  The emotional benefits of mediation include a reduction of negative emotions, mindfulness, optimism, increased self-awareness and an overall peace within the self.
Meditation is not only good for the individual who practices, but for the mass consciousness as well.  This is a new concept for many.  There have been numerous studies that have shown that a large group of people meditating together have a measurable effect on the greater population.  You can be a part of a great movement for peace and never leave the comfort of your home.  If we all come together and focus, and every individual does their part to affect the mass consciousness of humanity, we can change the world.  We can bring about peace through peace, rather than peace through war.

Meditating together also lets us come together in a shared intention for change.  On a global scale, we have witnessed many times how a small handful of people, strongly unified by a common intent, can profoundly influence a larger group of people.  Great global movements for peace begin with the unity of people who desire peace for the greater good.  If the number of people who meditate peace are large enough, this can neutralize negativity, neutralizing stress of the masses (even those who are not meditating) and lower crime and the desire for war.  A group of individuals can have a marked influence on the calming influence throughout society.
I see meditation as a divine gift, a way that we can contribute and give to our world.
According to the world-renowned quantum physicist, public policy expert and leading proponent of peace, Dr. John Hagelin, stress has a significant effect on the brain and group meditation is a brain-based approach to peace.  He says that the epidemic of stress that contributes to so many health problems, including stress-related illness such as hypertension, heart disease and stroke,  can be reduced through meditation.  Dr. Hagelin explains that anti-social behavior and aggressive-impulsive criminal behavior are stress driven behaviors, born of stress.  Stress has a negative effect on brain functioning and under stress the prefrontal cortex shuts down.  Dr. Hagelin goes on to say that when the prefrontal cortex (otherwise known as the higher brain, responsible for higher human functioning, such as moral reasoning and judgments) shuts down, under stress, we are driven by the primitive, impulsive brain.  At this point we then lose control and lose the ability to consider the implications of our actions.  You could see how this would be problematic.  A simple tool to reverse the negative effects of stress on brain functioning is meditation.  The amazing part about this is that you not only effect yourself when you meditate, you effect others, contributing to the mass consciousness of the planet.
